Our Community
Our VOLUNTEERS come from all walks of life and share their time, knowledge, and experiences to help preserve and enhance the declining salmon stocks in our Southern British Columbian waters, while meeting people who share the same common interests and ways of life. The Howard English Hatchery is a model of how public involvement, in wildlife conservation and preservation, can provide environmental rewards without costing the taxpayers large sums of money.
Volunteer groups work regularly at the hatchery on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Special project teams are formed from time to time to get other jobs done.
